Infrared behavior of the ghost propagator in the Landau gauge Yang-Mills theory

چکیده

We prove that the Faddeev-Popov ghost dressing function in the YangMills theory is non-zero and finite in the limit of vanishing momenta and hence the ghost propagator behaves like free in the deep infrared regime, within the Gribov-Zwanziger framework of the D-dimensional SU(N) Yang-Mills theory in the Landau gauge for any D > 2. This result implies that the Kugo-Ojima color confinement criterion is not satisfied in its original form. We point out that the result crucially depends on the explicit form of the non-local horizon term adopted. The original Gribov prediction in the Landau gauge should be reconsidered in connection with color confinement.

Infrared behavior and infinite-volume limit of gluon and ghost propagators in Yang-Mills theories

Lattice studies of the infrared behavior of gluon and ghost propagators are a key probe of confinement scenarios in Yang-Mills theories. However, finite-volume effects become an important issue as the infrared limit is approached. By considering general quantities — namely an associated susceptibility in the gluon case and properties of the lowest-lying eigenmode of the Faddeev-Popov matrix in ...

Infrared analysis of propagators and vertices of Yang–Mills theory in Landau and Coulomb gauge

Abstract The infrared behaviour of gluon and ghost propagators, ghost-gluon vertex and three-gluon vertex is investigated for both the covariant Landau and the non-covariant Coulomb gauge. Assuming infrared ghost dominance, we find a unique infrared exponent in the d = 4 Landau gauge, while in the d = 3 + 1 Coulomb gauge we find two different infrared exponents. We also show that a finite dress...

Implications of Analyticity to Mass Gap, Color Confinement and Infrared Fixed Point in Yang–Mills theory

Analyticity of gluon and Faddeev–Popov ghost propagators and their form factors on the complex momentum-squared plane is exploited to continue analytically the ultraviolet asymptotic form calculable by perturbation theory into the infrared non-perturbative solution. We require the non-perturbative multiplicative renormalizability to write down the renormalization group equation. These requireme...

Finite-Temperature Yang-Mills Theory in Landau Gauge

The gluon and ghost propagators in Landau Gauge Yang-Mills Theory are investigated. Self-consistent solutions are obtained from their equations of motion above and below the presumed phase transition. Gluon confinement is manifest in these solutions and can be read off the infrared behavior of the gluon and ghost propagators. Confinement prevails below the presumed phase transition. Above and i...

Residual Confinement in High-temperature Yang-mills Theory *

The infrared behavior of Landau gauge gluon and ghost propagators are investigated in Yang-Mills theory at non-vanishing temperatures. Self-consistent solutions are presented for temperatures below the presumed phase transition and in the infinite temperature limit. Gluon confinement is manifest in the infrared behavior of these propagators. As expected confinement prevails below the phase tran...
